Gauging the virtualization suites: A close race
Although VMware is the dominant virtualization software provider it’s in a close race with Microsoft and Citrix. ZDNet Australia recently put the virtualization suites through their paces and gave a slight edge to Citrix’s XenServer 5.
The testing process looked at bare metal hypervisors, which don’t require a operating system, and virtual machine monitors, which do.

HP, Citrix Are Bringing Virtualization to PC Blades
Hewlett-Packard and Citrix are looking to combine virtualization and PC blades into a new offering aimed at creating a more centralized desktop infrastructure. The two companies are looking to combine Citrix’s XenDesktop 3 virtualization software with new HP BladeSystem PC blades that are based on AMD processors. UBS Analyst Says "Sell VMware" Stock
If you currently own VMware stock or just work and play in VMware's world, I'm sure you're keeping a watchful eye on their stock price. The Motley Fool makes it sound like a great buying opportunity, but UBS analyst Heather Bellini dropped her rating of the stock from "Neutral" to "Sell", and she cut her rating on the stock from $21 down to $15.
